Pastel Spooky Halloween Butter Board That Looks Scary Good
This pastel spooky Halloween butter board is the prettiest thing on the table and takes almost no time to put together. Lavender, mint, and blush butters with Halloween toppings make it a total crowd pleaser.

Cooking times can vary by equipment and ingredient size. Use the visual cues in the instructions and adjust seasoning to taste.
Method
Divide and color the butter
Split the softened butter into three roughly equal portions in three small bowls. Add a tiny amount of pastel purple gel coloring to the first, pastel mint green to the second, and pastel pink to the third. Mix each portion well with a spoon until the color is fully blended and even. Add a few drops of vanilla extract to each and stir in the powdered sugar if using.
Spread the butter onto the board
Choose a large wooden charcuterie board or a flat slate board. Using an offset spatula or the back of a spoon, drop spoonfuls of each colored butter onto the board in clusters. Then gently swipe and swirl them together, letting the colors blend slightly at the edges while keeping distinct patches of each color visible. Do not overmix or you will lose the pastel effect.
Decorate with Halloween toppings
Scatter the Halloween sprinkle mix evenly across the butter surface. Press candy eyes gently into the butter at random intervals. Add the bat or star sprinkles and any fondant ghost decorations. Finish with a light dusting of edible glitter and a pinch of flaky sea salt across the top.
Chill briefly before serving
Place the decorated board into the refrigerator for 10 to 15 minutes so the butter firms up slightly. This helps the decorations stay in place and makes the board easier to scoop from. Take it out about 10 minutes before guests arrive so the butter softens just enough for easy spreading.
Serve with dippers
Arrange shortbread cookies, graham crackers, and pretzel crisps around the board or in a basket alongside it. Provide small spreading knives or cocktail spreaders so guests can easily scoop and spread the butter onto their chosen dipper. Refresh the board with any fallen decorations before serving if needed.
